Minimum age for Competition is 30 years.

Age is determined as of 31 December 2027.

The competition draw will be finalised after team registrations close and published on the Games website and via Netball Connect.

All players, coaches, team managers and umpires must be registered through Netball Connect as 2027 Netball Queensland members to participate in netball competition at the Great Barrier Reef Masters Games. This registration includes insurance coverage for the three days of competition. Netball Connect registration will open in November 2026 and must be completed online seperatly. If you pre-register as a player/team for the Great Barrier Reef Masters Games before Netball Connect registration opens in November, you will be contacted directly to complete your Netball Connect registration.
The Team Manager is responsible for registering the team and entering each player's name and email address. Each player will then receive an email invitation to join the team, complete their registration, and pay their fees.
Team Managers can download the Player Registration Details Form to collect the information required from each player
If a player does not receive their invitation email, they should check their spam or junk folder
Players can also register individually and enter their team name during registration. Please ensure the team name is spelt correctly.
Players who do not have a team can register as an individual Netball competitor and enter "I need a team" when prompt to enter a team name. The Netball organiser will allocate players to a team where possible.
It is recommended that each team consist of a minimum of nine (9) players. For the 2027 Netball competition, there is no maximum number of players permitted per team. Teams can have additional players to allow for injuries or player availability throughout the competition.
Team marquees may be set up on the netball grounds from 8:30am to 4:00pm on Thursday 24 June, or from 7:00am on Friday 25 June.
Canteen, bar, coffee van and shower facilities are provided onsite.
All teams will be required to provide a scorer for each game. Scoring will be completed via Netball Connect.
All games will be 2 x 12-minute halves with a 2-minute break at half time and 4 minutes between rounds.
No grading games will be played - women's team organisers should indicate an appropriate division - Premier league or Social, when submitting their team entry. The organiser's reserve the right to reallocate at their discretion.
A team’s age division will be determined by the age of the youngest player in the team
Teams are required to supply their own umpire. Umpires must be badged and must not be registered as a player in the GBRMG netball competition.
If a team does not have an umpire, Cairns Netball Association can provide one at a cost per day. Teams must arrange an umpire with Cairns Netball Association by 5:00pm on Friday 11 June 2027 by emailing umpire@cairnsnetball.net.au. Availability of umpires is not guaranteed and will be allocated based on when enquires are received.
No special consideration will be given for game times. All teams must be available to compete at any time within the time schedule.
Players can only register to one team for the competition.
Competition will be conducted under the current World Netball – Rules of Netball rules at the time of the competition. Except for the following:
- Rolling Subs will be utilised during the competition – please ensure that all teams have 2 sets of matching Bibs.
- Netball Gloves may be worn for the competition; however, hands must be checked for jewellery prior to start of play.
The competition is presented by the Cairns Netball Association and sanctioned by Netball Queensland.

Additional Mixed Netball Information (30+)

A team must start with at least one male on the court, with a maximum of three males on the court at any time.
Teams may use more than three males during the game but must only have three on at any time with any extras being used as substitutes.
If during the game any male players are injured resulting in the team being left with no male players, then play may continue provided the team still has 5 players on court.
Male players shall play one in each area of the court (mid court, goals, and defence). GS or GA, WA or C or WD & GD or GK.
